Amenities and dynamics of rural areas is part of the Land Management Department of the National Research Institute of Science and Technology for Environment and Agriculture.

The scientific activities of this research unit are organised around four research axes:

(a) Social construction of environmental issues,

(b) Environmental performance of primary productive activities (agriculture and forestry),

(c) Analysis of public policies, and

(d) Territory-based dynamics and spatial organization of rural areas.

ADBX research staff is multidisciplinary and associates social sciences (economics, sociology, geography, political sciences) with biotechnical sciences and statistics. It aims at development of integrated environmental research at 'meso' scales, through different thematic approaches and analytical frameworks.

ADBX participates mainly in research on policy analysis and foresight for integrated forest management with a special regard to case study in France (WP 3).
