Aleksandras Stulginskis University (ASU)


Aleksandras Stulginskis University (former Lithuanian University of Agriculture) is the only university in Lithuania with the focus on agriculture, forestry, and water management as well as rural development.


The project team consists of researchers from two faculties:


(a) The Faculty of Forest and Ecology and

(b) The Faculty of Economics and Management.


However, the Forest Management Department of the Faculty of Forest and Ecology is the main participating entity with fields of expertise in forest inventories and management planning, forestry scenario modeling, landscape planning as well as forest policy and economics. Experts and facilities from the Faculty of Water and Land Management Institute of Environment of the university will be mobilized if needed.


ASU will be involved in two case studies. Furthermore, it will mainly participate in work on decision support systems for integrated forest management (WP 2) and on policy analysis and foresight for integrated forest management (WP 3).
