INTEGRAL Partners,  Cross-Project Meeting in Dublin 2014

 INTEGRAL Consortium

The INTEGRAL consortium consists of 21 partners from 13 countries.

Due to the inter-disciplinary and trans-disciplinary nature of the project, the team involves experts with different disciplinary backgrounds and research interests inter alia social and political sciences, forestry and environmental sciences, forest economy and future studies, as well as practitioners gathering a significant amount expertise.

The management team of INTEGRAL includes the project coordinator – the official representative of the project consortium – Prof. Dr. Ola Eriksson from the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, as well as the project’s scientific coordinator - Dr. Metodi Sotirov from the Institute of Forest and Environmental Policy at the University of Freiburg in Germany.

Moreover, among the consortium partners are 14 universities, 3 three research institutes, 2 NGOs and the state forest organization EUSTAFOR-- which represents commercially-orientated state forest companies, enterprises and agencies. The composition of the research organizations equally represents the two main disciplines -- forest policy and forest management.

Case studies in respective national areas are conducted by highly qualified project partners within the field of forest landscape analysis. Beyond these partnerships, other actors from policy, business, nature protection and civil society as well as opinion leaders will be involved throughout the project.

Therefore, the INTEGRAL project consortium as a whole ensures close cooperation and continuous exchange of experiences between European research and interest groups, as well as between national and local stakeholders.
